Tom's passion for food came about from an early age. Whether it be watching his grandfather, a culinary wizard create his famous prune and ammoniac soufflé, walking through the woods at home foraging wild mushrooms with the keeper, or Mackerel fishing with cousins on summer holidays. Growing up on a farm in Wiltshire, meant organically grown produce was a staple for the family, instilling in Tom what he has kept with him to this day in his cooking. With fresh, free range and locally sourced produce an essential starting point for any dish.
Tom worked his way through the kitchen ranks, gaining experience with other top London catering companies, Bellamy's restaurant in Bruten Place, as well as a El Macardo in Lima, Peru. Tom Thornton - Private Chefs & Events has steadily grown over the years, taking on some very high profile clients, and building lasting working relationships. Tom offers a truly bespoke service, whether it be your wedding, corporate or private event, lunches, cocktail party, or simply treating a loved one to a fantastic dinner for two, Tom will make each and everyone special to you.
.Tom's menus have a well rounded balance to them - letting the fresh and locally sourced produce do the talking - Tom was classically trained in a French kitchen, which of course gives a solid grounding, giving scope to explore other flavours from around the world. Tom is famous for his Sea Bream Ceviche with Aji Limo but I urge you togged him to also make you his fiery green papaya salad with shredded duck and watermelon. Both will leave you wanting more!
